This biannual international conference, originally convened in 1997,  will be held one year after the Rio +20 Summit and therefore its main objectives are:  promoting the integration and implementation of the protocols recommended  in the final document of the Summit and and analyzing what remains to be done.

Our goals are the promotion of cooperation between countries, the exchange of experiences and sustainable practices, knowledge transfer, assurance of our commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of  future economic, social and environmentally sustainable development for present and future generations. Similarly, be an ideal place to assess the progress of the link between science and policy and new ways of building capacity.
